I think I may have set a record here. I went to the TSA on Tuesday. I got a call from them a couple hours ago saying my TWIC is done, and will arrive at my house shortly. That's crazy fast. I've heard it can take up to a month and a half!

Right on. Either way, it'll be there when I get home next. Then it's off to the DMV.

Looks like my area is about to get a break from the snow. Looking forward to rolling out tomorrow. Hope y'all are doing well tonight.

Got my 2nd run today, picked up in Holly Springs, Al. That place just sucks.
Probably get worse, loaded and headed up to Chicago, then grabbing glass and heading to CT. Way to break me in..
On a side note, backing in school does nothing for you in the real world. Should spend more time on proper set ups from different angles. I’m sure I’ll be the star of a few YouTube videos soon..

Don't sweat it man. Everyone is terrible at first. My instructor at Trenton told me that it takes about a year to get good at backing. I didn't believe him then, it sounded a little ridiculous to me at the time. But he was right. You'll get there, I promise.

The backing you learn in school is to pass the test, thats it. Once you get into the "real world" thats when you actually learn how to back the truck. As long as you are doing the majority of the backing with your trainer, then you will be fine. Backing is repetition plain and simple. Only way to get better is to do it over and over again.

Sorry to hijack because I’m not a Millis driver, but you’re 100% correct on the backing. I’ve been driving for 6 years and every backing situation is new. All they taught me when I got my license was to ally dock, which I’ve never used in real life, and a straight back.

Yup. I still remember my 1st back I attempted with my trainer. I was his 1st student and I set up to do and alley dock into a parking spot. The look on his face was priceless, and his exact words were wtf are you doing lol. Felt pretty good to return that look with my 1st student lol.
