Try this little trick:
Unlock the pins. Spin the trailer in a circle, 360 degrees left, then 360 degrees right. Straighten out, and get rolling in reverse, then with the clutch out and with light throttle, pull the trolley valve. It should slide.
Axle wont slide

When aired up and trolley valve pulled they would lock. Can't have it aired up with air slide suspension. When dynamited it wouldn't move on it's own but the wheels would all turn if you pulled it hard enough.
I could never figure it out.deewilliams2008 and jethro712 Thank this. -
I am too buy laughing, wiping my eyes to come up with anything really useful. The ideas presented here have been very good. It touches my sense of humor when a trailer aint sliding.
Soap should do it. On the inside top where the trailer rests on the tandem slide plates. Wax that all the way down, spritz the stuff with water just a little bit. She should slide then.
DON'T YOU YANK that thing too much because you might run the whole thing out of rails. Then you have a problem.
If she aint slide, hand it to the shop and go away with another trailer. There is no point in beating a dead horse.
That's all I have here. The more I think about this the more I remember a few trailers that wont slide. Fun times.Grubby, deewilliams2008 and jethro712 Thank this. -
had stuck tandems before, soaked with rust buster. got pins to release but wouldnt slide. soaked both slide rails & drove in the potholes in the yard. finally broke loose.

Dish soap and wheel chocks have never failed me, sometimes you have to slide the opposite of the intended direction first though.
I got sent to repower a trailer once because the driver had blown out his clutch trying to slide tandems. Dish soap did the trick.Grubby, deewilliams2008 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
If you really want some fun, have the wife slide those things.
Make sure you give clear instructions, no more than three separate items at a time. He he. -

It don't sound like it would help hear, sounds like it needs lubed, but there's a trick that's real handy. Roll forward about 5 MPH then use the trailer brake to stop the truck, set the brake. For whatever reason that seems to always center the pins in the holes. As far as using chocks I tore up a perfectly good set doing that. Carry a concrete block, 4x4 section of wood or something else. Them things are expensive.
