I was also thinking of Marten. Roehl has a reefer division, heard both good and bad about them.

"I've heard what you're saying about Heartland not getting as many miles as some. I've done the math though, too. With what some of these bigger reefer companies, I'd have to run 2500 miles to make what I will in 2000 at Heartland. If I do a good week and get 2500 with HE, I'd have to run over 3100 miles at .32. Thats just working smarter in my opinion"

Yeah but I personaly would rather kill my time driving then sitting thats the difference between 2000 miles or 3000 miles, 2000 you get a lot more sitting time. But I do agree with working for more per mile but I would still rather run the miles.

Considering Henderson pay .38 for OTR I would take that anyday over Heartless aka Heartland's plus ZERO HAZMAT. At Henderson you run all the toll roads since they have the cards or ez pass for them I pass for IL Pre Pass for the Scales Lumpers John told me YOUR JOB IS TO DRIVE NOT UNLOAD they pay for all of them regardless of what it costs.

I did work for Henderson for 1 1/2 years. I was a dedicated driver the whole time tho, home every night. My dad still works for them. I did talk to them (since they told me I could come back anytime) but they said in my area it might be difficult to get me home. Also, with Heartland I will be regional, not completely OTR. Thats what I will look for in Heartland doesn't work out.

Henderson is a good company, there is no doubt about that. If they had a regional for down here where I could get home more, I would go back to them in a heart beat. When I worked for them I was living in Flora, IL. I moved down to TN to finish my college. I'm just taking this semester off (and maybe the summer) trying to save a little money (very little probably) so I can go back to school in the fall.

Thanks for the help guys. Going to the Greyhound terminal now for Heartland orientation.

In my opinion, the hands down best reefer company - if, as you say, you want to run OTR and home time is not such a concern - is Prime, Inc. out of Springfield. Where other companies are downsizing and going belly up, Prime keeps growing. Equipment is some of the best on the road, and pay is pretty good as well.
