I have yet to start, but i want to get all my ducks in a row before i continue on, TMC is my top choice, then Boyd Bros, ATS (if they take students still?) then Maverick

Do companies just look at the MVR or do they dig deeper, and what do they look at? Is this something that i am able to see before i inquire with my prospective employers
thanks

They look at your mvr pretty hard and will question any dings (I had a license suspension in 2000) I explained my horrible circumstances divorce, foreclosure no $$ for insurance etc
.. I went through some hard times back then and suffered from depression and was treated for it and was questioned if I was still on meds, I wasn't and they said that I was good to go (that was ROEHL Transport, went to twucky school in Wisconsin), some even do a background check I think. It sounds like you will have no trouble, I was so worried my 'accident' would prevent me from ever getting something decent but it didn't, Old Dominion is the best!!!!
Just go get that CDL and have fun

Oh, they will pull your MVR you won't see it first..I didn't anyway.Last edited: Dec 14, 2008
Peterbilt79 Thanks this. -
Here in Pa. you can go to any authorized online penndot or drivers license center and get a copy of your mvr...........You can also go to penndot's online page and print right off..........uh I did it last month and I think it was $5.00 for 3 yr and $8.00 for 10 year........it's a piece of cake. If that is the only state you have had a license in that will be what they look at.
Most co.'s only look back 3 years, some look 5 or 7. The recruiter will ask you and tell you.
All Companies do background checks, some hire felony convictions on a case-by-case and other companies will not hire if any felony convictions.
Don't worry...........good luck -
Word of advise if it doesn't show on you MVR then don't say a word. If it is not there then the only way they will find out is if you tell them. I did this once, had a accident 20yrs back told the company I was applying for and was told NO. The accident was long off my record and they would never have known if I did not mention it..

Will it show up in an insurance database, that they could have access to? If it is reported to insurance company (but no tickets or citations Nothing on MVR) wouldnt it be with their records? I just want to make sure there is nothing that could prevent me from getting in with a good company

There was some damage, insurance took care of it (this is through my works insurance) they are a small landscape construction company-so no DAC report issues--
so basically i have some saying to tell, and others not to, but the feeling im getting is as long as it isnt on MVR it isnt nothing, and that they dont check into insurance records----hmmmmmmmm----what to do, what to do?
Ive heard its hard to get into TMC, and this is my company of choice first, so i want to do what i can to make sure i can get it

Well after doing some research, and looking into somethings about the DAC report---a few more ?'s
will my accident that isnt on my MVR be on the DAC report?
Does the DAC report pull from insurance records or MVR
Does my employer have to be involved with the DAC report for info from them to be on the report
Ive pulled my MVR and its clean, and my CLUE report and there isnt anything negative there, but after reading about the DAC reports, im wondering if my little accident in compnay P/U (but not cited for) would be on there
thanks for all the help
