For those who may not know (I for one don't, and I'm curious), what is PGT Trucking? Flat/Reefer/Dry van? Does PGT stand for something or is that it, just PGT.

I am an OTR driver that keeps the Sabbath. I get done on Friday night and take a 6 to 800 mile run home for the weekend to be with my family on Sat. Many trucking companies gave weekend home time several years ago but it has become more and more of a trend to keep drivers out 2 to 3 weeks at a time. Drivers have let it happen. I live 200 miles from our yard so I have already knocked out 200 miles on a run for Monday. Sometimes I only get 500 miles and have 300 left to run on Sunday. I am flexible when there is traffic and unexpected delays (often), and can get home late friday or Saturday morning. I allow for driving in these circumstances as long as it is just to get home for the remaining Sabbath hours. In this industry nothing stays the same and if you are not completely enslaved to the system it will be a weekly struggle to make it what you want it to be. If you think that a company ( even the ones that will accommodate you) can get you home at a specific time every friday even if you run local, you are sadly mistaken. However, the 70 hour rule models a day of rest and is therefore beneficial to those who would not otherwise take a day off. We are created to work and have a time to rest. It is built into the laws of nature by the Creator. The closer we are to adhering to this the better we feel. Just remember when it comes to transporting goods, even if you built your own company, God is not in total control of traffic or the mishaps that cause delays. These involve the free will given to imperfect people to make mistakes, cause accidents and the like. Hope your still out there and able to read this.

PGT is a flatbed carrier. It stands for Pat Gallagher Trucking.

Flatbed is mostly a Monday through Friday proposition. You’ll need to be set up for whatever you need to do on Monday before the weekend, but you can have Saturday or Sunday off at pretty much all of them. The company I work for tries to always have us reset over the weekend whether we need it or not lol

Seventh day are by far not the only faiths that keep Sabbath! GC7, CCOG, its actually a very long list, I wont go into the Biblical reasons, just saying a simple google search can be very informative.
