Where can I get info and starter knowledge about cb. Im very fascinated. I would eventually like to repair and tune my own. Or start a collection of a dying art form. Heck at one time I had about 120 various chainsaws in various forms of complete or broken, or parts.

I don't think I know much parts terminology and that stuff. What is delta tune? Finals?
One day my dream is to get an older navy radio ww2 era. Because I think tesla, and Einstein used radios for more than just talking.

Start with basics. What is a resistor capacitor etc ... then move up from there. The basics are needed, a lot of hacks and so called techs do not even now how to calculate a complex resistor circuit let alone understand biasing circuits.

I disagree that CB is dying. It is simply used differently now, just like automobiles. Back in the old days folks would road trip with picnic baskets and make a day of it.

keep your fingers out of the old tube type radios, if a ground is missing and you dont know what your doing, it's gunna hurt.

isolated a/c power supplies are a good thing, I use a variac. look up mr.carlson on you tube before you even think of tubes

Fine Tune CB does some awesome videos. But, they do require some working knowledge of the way test equipment and radios work. Mark can informative to the educated. But, he can also be condescending and insulting at times to the not so educated. You need to understand what you are looking at and sometimes he forgets that most people don't have a clue what he is showing them.

Fine Tunes is great and so is Mikes radio repair for information and general knowledge.

His (marks) videos are ok, but there are a lot out there that are better produced and explains things a lot better for beginners. He doesn't really explain things right for beginners, more made for sales than anything else.

Start with the basics, learn the basics and go from there, passive components, then active components.

Get a good meter, a little power supply, get a little prototyping board and build circuits that are examples of real world circuits.

I had my Stryker 655 fixed by Mark/Fine Tune CB Shop due to the original owner decided he wanted to play hack job USA with the radio.Right now I am happy with my radio after I got it back from Mark. I've learned lot from his YouTube videos.
