Team driving is a scam

If you want to team drive, go LTL. Old dominion or Estes or Saia. You go terminal to terminal only, and you'll start out making $95,000-$100,000 a year just for being out Mon-Fri and home weekends. Once you top out, you're looking at about $120,000-$130,000 a year
You'll be doing 6000+ miles a week, every week no problem.

 

After 10 years you gross approximately $1,000,000.

 

Team driving isn't for everyone, but I enjoy it. I sleep just fine, and I like to drive during early morning hours.

I'd have to run about 3800 miles at .43 to make what I make right now.

I wouldn't want to do that on a consistent basis solo.

 

At least if one person rips a real serious fart you've got some plausible deniability.

 

Good money but ####### what an awful life. If somebody seriously offered me one of those jobs I'd probably have to pass.

 

Why is that awful life? Mon-fri with 2 real days off making over $100K a year. Not having to find customers or spend time at a dock. Better than any other OTR gig there is.

 

Even at 43 cents split in 2006 right out of school at cfi each of us averaged 1500 to 1700 a week
