I always call ahead and get the ok to untarp at night or the next morning before they open. I get the persons name and make a note on the Bol. I also take pictures. One place in Sioux Falls sd that I went to believe it was Dakota steel. Must visually inspect to make sure it's tarped before unloading or they refuse the load.

I've pulled it the night before with permission only.
If permission isn't granted from anyone I'd normally leave it be. If I'm in an absolute rush I'd pull bungees but leave it pinned and the sides rolled in case I need to move around the yard in the am.
No harm in calling them during regular business hours the day before. -
Yeah unless you been there before, do not untarp . early. Might have to go to another locaction or morning dew on the product. Could be a problem. unstrap etc but leave tarp on.

Sorry az receiver in York, PA that builds roof truss gave me a bunch of crap and deducted $500 from me getting paid because I delivered a load of 2x4's that was same day delivery on a sunny dry day.
Very seldom do I ever move a tarped shipment anymore. Too much bullcrap not enough pay.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
I delivered to Culpepper wood preservers in Culpepper, VA. I got in line, untarped, and unsecured the load and waited for my turn. I then found out it was supposed to be delivered to their Fredricksburg, VA yard. So put it all back together and hurry up doing it because now I’m blocking the other trucks behind me.

Just as I thought. That use to be one of my customers. That was about 6 years ago and they use to pay $3.00 per mile to run all over the North East. They don't check loads for tarping but they don't want them soaking wet.
Brokers always trying to make $100 off of each of their postings.IluvCATS Thanks this.
