I'm not with Maverick. I went to Builders Transportation. So hopefully notarps4me or the like will respond to mav-related questions.
I was talking with Copilot 11 support. It's not the greatest support. Plan on waiting at least 20 minutes to talk to someone. But they do take notes. They actually said earlier versions were better in some ways because it had some functionality you would have wanted. They took it out in this version. The maps are updated, but personally, for $300, they could have put more effort into it. Has great potential, but they need to hire a truck driver or just LISTEN to the feedback they are getting and not be so cheap.
But it does get you from one address to another. It's neat, and it has a lot of data on truckstops. But they make it kind of hard to get to. It doesn't handle searches well.
I like how it attempts to reroute you when you miss a stop. It also is nice that you can have the nearby city, state update continuously, which is helpful when doing logs. (where am I?). It tracks your estimated time of arrival and real-time position. I'll probably start another blog dealing with CoPilot 11. There was also another trucker GPS unit I was considering..

Stuge, yes, you can stand up straight in the sleeper. I drove 18 months with Maverick and the only problem I had with the sleepers is when they had the old Century mid-roofs. I'm 6' and you would have to stand with your head bowed down or kicked over to one side. But the Columbia's they got are XL's, and you actually got a few inches of head room. They are pretty nice inside.

Hey Notarps, hows freight now a days? I've heard that flatbed is slowing way down. How are you miles? One of the reasons I am asking is that I am starting school soon and ave been told that I have a job at Maverick when I get my CDL. I would be going to the Middletown Oh facility.
Thanks for your time. -

I am thinking of going with maverick specialized. After reading this post, I am kind of nervous about going to orientation. I just finished cdl school and would not start orientation until sometime in Jan. My shifting is ok but not that great. I sometimes grind gears and have a little bit of trouble downshifting in a hurry when turning or on exit ramps off the interstate or when traffic. Nothing to extream, Im sure a lot of new drivers have a difficult time with this too. Its something that I am confident that I will master with time and more practice. My question is does maverick let you choose wheather you road test in an automatic or manual truck. I would much rather prefer an auto on the road test. Would it be possible for a person to choose which type you test in. Also, how picky are they in regards to shifting on the road test. Keep in mind I am fresh out of CDL school and need as much practice as I can get.
parkerr58 Thanks this.
