    The mechanicals were all 14.6L, so is the single turbo C15 and 3406E, then there was a 3406E with 15.8L that later was named the C16, those were the 600hp motors.

    Thank you for explaining that, also what were the smaller offerings like what would be the C7, C9 and the C13 of today?

    C7= 3126B i believe, 7.2L not sure about hp but 210-250hp. C9, i think is a new engine but around 9L, the C13 is a bigger version of the C12, and the C12 grew from the 3176B, 12L engine, 370-445hp i believe.

    No problem, forgot to mention that the C13 displacement has gone up when they went to the twin turbo motors, same for the C15, went from 14.6L to 15.2.... Basically a 14.6 block with a C16 15.8L modified crank.

    I've heard about those C13's supposedly they make a good fire engine motor, but nobody around us that I know runs CAT, mainly Cummins with a few DD mixed in

    The drop in temperature would aim to the water regulators. If you installed a winter front and had it completely closed, the air intake temperature would go through the roof. This would result in poor power and fuel mileage. Do you have any check engine lights? Is your temp gauge accurate? Is it possible you are overheating? Sounds like you may have two different problems. Is there any coolant pushing out the overflow, Is the coolant level proper?

    DDS, winter front was open 50% , I have 2 temp gauges [ cat ID & manual gauge]. No codes, oil pressure dropped to 42 lbs, when temp gets above 195, NOW I noticed oil was being push up the dip stick . So now its building pressure in the crank case .

    What is your boost?Did that change at all.Oil being pushed out of the crankcase could be caused by the turbo.Does it miss all the time,or just under a load?

    starts to miss when the temp reaches 190, manifold pressure is about 35 psi ,misses loaded or empy , but only notice under accelaration, or when the jake is on it makes some really crazy sounds.
