He did this ECM 4 years ago, at that time that was the best he could do since cat did a power upgrade before he got it.

    550,

You were right; its a 3406, not a c15 like the dealer said. However; the ECM is a 2nz.

You mean 2WS, no such thing as a 2nz.

I found some info on this stage 5. Back housing is a 1.60 A.R, turbine wheel is 120mm from what i remember being told and compressor is 81mm.

Ok the back housing is garrett/airresearch, BW turbine wheel and center section, and the compressor wheel and housing is all MI turbo..... So its indeed a hybrid.

what can he do to get better performance w/o dropping his rears from 3:70? Also, he has rear diffs, and 24.5 tires.

Up the power....... What do you mean he has 3.70 rears but has rear diffs? LOL Rears are diffs, as in differentials, all trucks have them.

How much would it cost to drop down to 3.58 rears? Would the pittsburg power pack work as well?

The Meritor gears (chunks) are usually a bit cheaper being more plentiful than Eaton. Local pricing may vary. I think the Meritor's are better gears. They seem to last longer and don't leak around the housings as bad as the Eaton/Spicers do.

I have 3.70 DSP 40's and want to change to Meritor 3.58 or even 3.42's. :biggrin_25525:
