Yeah we didn't get a chance to talk. But if you ever need my number just send me a PM.

I hear y'all have inward facing cameras on the new Volvos
-
Well then somebody lied to you. If that was the case I would not be working here. There is a camera that faces the outside but nothing that faces the driver. They can only access that camera if there is an accident. Because it runs through Volvo. We had a truck wreck about 2 months ago and they went through a lot of red tape to get the footage. But again no driver facing cameras in our trucks.smokey12, RebelChick and Vic Firth Thank this.

Yes I talked to a driver today..he was probably mistaken, said they were inward and outward facing...also said there is a collision avoidance sysytem bit I can live with that. Outward facing is great but inward is a deal breaker for me when living in a truck for weeks. Also..do y'all have prepass? Your company and a couple of others are at the top of my list when I leave my current one later this year. Thanks for the updates..

Yeah he's full of crap.
I asked about that very thing before we ever got the trucks. And they said they had no interest and looking at a driver. Ask for tolls I have never had to pay for a toll since I've been here. Any toll is automatically paid for. Including Florida SunPass. Sam Houston Expressway. Kansas and Oklahoma Turnpike. And as far as I know everything in California. If there is a system we do not have then I don't know about it because I've never ran across one. There is collision avoidance system. As well as Lane departure and blind spot warning. Those are pretty normal for almost every company you work for. However there is no spy equipment or James Bond gadgets on any of the trucks. -
Hey smurf , orientation went pretty smooth this week after all. Everything seems to be pretty laid-back like you said. I did talk to Megan about you, I thought she was going to roll on the floor laughing. LOL, can't believe got a brand new truck 131 miles on it. They are putting a different camera (forward facing only) in my truck on Friday before I leave. They are getting a couple to try it out. That's because of the red tape they had to go through couple months ago. Look forward into catching up with you sometime. Thanks for all the info it really helped early on. I'm in 3261!!!

I knew they were talking about installing their own cameras and having those from Volvo cut off. I'll be on the yard Saturday evening I don't deliver until Monday at noon so going to go ahead and get a reset. They're supposed to be putting all new Quailcoms in the trucks this coming spring or summer. The ones we have now work fine but they are a little slow. I think you'll like it there. A really decent company to work for so far. If you have any questions just PM me and I'll give you my phone number. Welcome aboard stay safe!ncmickey Thanks this.

I've been to Georgia three times in the last 2 weeks! Making a 9:30 pm delivery tonight in Atlanta. Then maybe a run up to North Carolina for some home time. Not been a bad week about 2600 miles.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
What's their mileage pay again?
