My dads got 3.58s, they have 1.3million on them so far, the power divider went out twice though, meritor piece i believe.

You dont need to go to 3.58s, the 3.70s are fine with that motor they dont like to lug like an acert. They will do just fine with tall gears but not needed. You need to read the posts and answer instead of just going on and on, i wouldnt waste my time with the PP box.

On the Garrett I got from great lakes the A/R 1.23 and the turbine wheel is 110mm and the compressor is 88mm.On the Garrett web site it looks like a cross between th GT5533R,GT6041R and the GT4718R Ball Bearing type.

The GT6041 has the big A/R 1.60 they also have a A/R 1.72 but the compresser wheel seems the same size.

Those Cats must be really retarded to make 3.5 bar (51 PSI) with that big exhaust side. My 14.2 litre V8 race engine has a Holset HT4C with 85mm compressor and 92 mm turbine and I have troubles getting over 3bar without smoke. Still it makes about 1100-1200hp. Cummins L-10s use same turbo with 3cm bigger housing and make 3.5bar/1250hp and 4bar/1400hp.

I think my crappy cam has a lot to do with it Lenny, also the low nox in these engines with the retarded timing makes a crap load of boost. Theres a guy running a early 5EK ecm with my fuel numbers but no low nox crap and he builds 39psi and made 1140whp with the this very same BW turbo.

Would be nice to know what the advance is in degrees. I'm using 27 deg but the rpm range is 2000-3200 rpm and it's a Bosch inline pump with fixed timing.
My boss had a euro 2 520hp FH 16 Volvo with EDC Bosch inline pump with fixed timing, when it was in factory settings it had no power at all and fuel consumption was really high. Then an engineer flew from factory in Sweden to Finland and advanced the timing from 8deg to 13 deg and made some changes to wastegate. They got just and just 520hp on the dyno out of it, I wonder how much it got earlier, maybe 400? Fuel consumption also dropped from 55L/100km to 40L/100km.
What I don't understand is if you make those changes yourself you lose guarantee and you are a criminal and polluter because it's not Euro 2 anymore, but when a guy from the factory does it it's perfectly OK!

Thats the way i see it to Lenny, we are all criminals for trying to improve things and WOW man 55L/100km was pretty bad!

I would like to know more about timing on these motors too but asking CAT is like talking to a wall, maybe DDS knows.
