Driver Qualification File: Do I Need One?

    So do I need to contact previous employers of myself and do a "background investigation" to add to my file? Been at the same place for 5 years, so that's not too hard.

    Yes...I suggest you get the 'supervisor's desk' copy of the FMCSA regulations from J J Keller, the bigger book has all the DOT guidance in between the rules...

    You also need to be set up for drug testing and have a pre-employment drug scree in that 391 folder along with your MVR.

    Drug screen results before you start driving and the MVR and background checks within 30 days of starting....

    Jj keller has a driver qual package with all the required forms. They went straight for my driver file at the new entrant audit. If you join NASTC, they have a package as well.
