Well, didn't say that's what it paid, I was showing a worst case scenario. But you're right, it's pathetic.

The one thing also if you decide to lease a truck from Schneider finance you can take the truck to another Carrier... That's what many of us have been doing... so keep that in mind as well..

Your numbers are not very far off... Sni has ruined a good program... There was no reason for them to do this other than pure greed... anybody with any lick sense knows that if you let an owner operator make their money then the company's gonna make their money as well and everybody's gonna be happy but management @ SNI has just gone to the level of greed that is ruining the company..

Absolutely. Just finishing up my first full week running after leaving SNI. $2.05/mi TTT on 2471 mi, including 300 OOR to go to the house. And thats 3 loads instead of 10 or 12.

I made money. The guy I'm leased to made money. I didn't spend countless hrs trying to string loads together. Stress level is down.

My last week at SNI was $1.69/mi on 2961 mi. My first 6 mo at SNI my avg was $2.85/mi on 1400 - 1700 mi a week. Thats how far the program has deteriorated over 3 yrs.

Schneider pay is around $1.30 per mile.
Need to find percentage pay somewhere.
Rates are usually $3+ per mile,so after the company takes their 20%,your getting $2.50.

Landstar is super selective? I thought they were letting old Schneider IC's in? How selective could they possibly be?

There's 30,000 posts on this forum praising Schneider, and the same number demonizing Landstar.

The day I had my QC and stickers pulled off, there were 2 other ICs at the same time getting their stuff removed as well.

Now its only anecdotal, but that speaks volumes to me.

I'm actually leasing on with Schneider this month.

After all that math, I have $1150 for 2500 loaded miles. I might be a young guy, but I think that gives me a little more insight on how to provide in today's economy, as I don't have any bad habits or expectations.

That's before taxes, and that's also on an average of $1.30/mi.

My question is, why would someone walk into a lease deal expecting to make it big? I'm going to have a truck at the end of the deal, am I not? Can I not then, take everything I've learned, and put it to use in yet another leap forward for my career?

It might not be as enticing as it once was (I don't know, as I have no experience), but it doesn't mean you can't get the same out of it as you could before.
