How do companies like Hirschbach offer 99 cent fuel to their Lease Purchase drivers. I know CRE use to offer 69 cent fuel so I'm a little suspicious.
Although Hirschbach seems like a good company.

They don't pass on the fuel surcharge. They don't pass on thier fuel discounts. They control where you fuel. They hold you to a minimum mpg.

They deduct the fsc from the national average fuel cost to arrive @ .99

Probably cuz the only pay them $.85 a mile or some other low ball rate. They are ripping them off in other ways being a fleece driver to make fuel look cheap and affordable.

    ^^this^^

They use an accounting slight of hand to make drivers who are not smart enough to read the fine print think they are getting an awesome deal. Most of these outfits pay something like $0.86 per mile plus fuel surcharge. They use the fsc rate at an average of 6 mpg then subtract that from the national average fuel price to arrive at this ".99 per gallon" price. That intentionally make it sound like drivers will be getting the $0.86 plus fsc and get all their fuel for $0.99. That is simply not true. It is a less than honest sales tactic to rope suckers into leasing a truck.

They use a confusing math equation. First they use a high number for the fleet average. Say 8.5mpg.

So if fuel is .99per gallon and you get 8.5 mpg. .99÷8.5 =.12 is your per mile fuel cost.

Now when national pump price is $3 per gallon 3÷8.5=.35 fuel cost mile.

    Now they take .35 minus .12 =.23
So fuel surcharge is .23 cents a mile. Making your actual fuel cost .99 a gallon. Did you get that?

Meanwhile a reputable outfit will give you your surcharge based off of DOE numbers and pass on 100 percent of the pump discount. I pay considerably less than .99 per gallon after surcharge and don't have to meet arbitrary requirements to do so. Hirshbach has very strict requirements to be eligible for the "cheap" fuel, even though you are paying more than most guys do.

Man it hurts to see the old drivers attack young drivers. What these old men fail to realize is we bat for the same side Jackazz. Yet your old butt is over kissing up to a dispatchers. Smdh
