Struck out again. 7 hour drive to find out the truck is mediocre at best. Rust all the way around the windshield, the driver smoked inside, brakes took a ton of pedal pressure to stop, steering wobble at any speed over 25, no one could figure out how to use the bunk heater, and even though they had paperwork on the engine it felt sluggish for supposedly having 550. Had to walk away because they wouldn’t take less than $32,000. When I called the guy about it he made the truck sound like showroom condition. It also ran 1500 rpm at 65 mph which is pretty #### high for a cat.

Feel like I need a section just for trials and tribulations for buying a truck.

Its better just to walk away. We just flew to SC to look at a truck last week. Lots of conversation with the seller and i felt real confident so we booked 2 one way tickets and a rental car to make it happen. Well turns out the pictures were 2 years old and a whole list of other lies , i was ready to beat the crap out of him. He had a list of guys ready to come from Chicago to buy it if i didnt take it, i said let them have it!!!

Same thing with me. Seemed like a straightforward guy over the phone. We got there, immediately saw the window frame rust (it wasn’t just superficial, would take some actual body work to fix), smelled the interior filled with smoke, and knew I had been taken for a fool. When I said to him wasn’t totally sold on the truck after driving it he said he had two guys coming tomorrow (today) to look at it. Told him thanks anyway and drove away. Other than the stuff I didn’t like physically about the truck it has really steep gears. I plan to run 70 mph often which would have to be 1600 rpm at least. That thing would have sucked fuel.

Shame it didn't work out, you're going to have to kiss a lot of frogs I reckon but in the end one of them will turn into a handsome prince.

    Gumper Thanks this.

It’s alright, I’m not in a hurry to get a truck. Have a backup plan truck waiting for me in Idaho anyway. Going down next Friday to look it over, and then drive it away so long as it’s how it was described.

Can someone please suggest me what kind of insurance would I need to move my parked truck and flatbed trailer from one state to another with my personal belonging, including personal vehicles. Truck is not leased to any company at the moment and just have state regular registration (not IRP).
