I live on Grand Island, New York, it is really an island in the Niagara River. It considered one of the largest freshwater islands in the world. I support the Loves Travel Plaza, with its projected $2,000,000.00 in tax revenue to the Town of Grand Island.(sales and property taxes). I believe the town's action to outlaw truck stops is unconstitutional. Immediately adjacent to the west of the proposed travel plaza businesses with approximately 18 high bay doors for storing heavy equipment are three businesses (west on Whitehaven Road) West Island Trucking, Pinto Trucking and Pinto Equipment. Also stored immediately to the west are many junk cars, an old cement mixer and other assorted junk. A Loves Travel Plaza would be a boost to the community economically and a boost to the blight that the locals have created immediately to the west of the travel plaza site. To the east is a large veterinary practice with several acres of land and to the east of that, I - 190. Fewer than 10 individual residents live within 1,500 feet of the proposed travel plaza. Nearly 3,000 trucks a day cross the I-190, making a travel plaza a natural fit for this location. Loves, if you read this, please take Grand Island, New York to court. Thank you.
No love for Love's Travel Stop plan for Grand Island
