Yes mr Carlson's lab is a good start. Not saying his videos are the problem but marks are like infomercials.

He shows little tidbits of what he does but he deliberately doesn't show everything since he's not trying to teach anyone how to do what he does and he's trying to scare away 90% of the people who try to contact him so he can focus on gravy jobs. All the people that try to nickel-and-dime him get referred to Mike.

 

I watched just about all his videos before contacting him to do a 2970N4 for me. I have had multiple very long conversation with Mark and enjoyed everyone. He is a wealth of information as long as you have a good understanding of what he is talking about. My 2970N4 in my prize radio possession. I have many radios and amps. But my FineTuned RCI 2970n4 is the one I choose to use the majority of the time.

 

I like the videos of the radios others have worked on, but he does not show you his work when completed, So you really don't know what hes showing on the videos. I have experienced alot of what he shows even in ham and commercial radios.
