My truck has lane departure monitoring...a mirror on each side. My truck has adaptive speed control...my right foot. My truck has an advanced collision avoidance system...a skilled driver. I've also got a 100% reliable method for recording my hours of service...pen and paper. -

I think you guys are reading me wrong. I hate ELDs and will never ever use one. The point of the OP is that Big Gov has, over the years, foisted many so-called "safety features" on drivers, and now many drivers are looking at older equipment to avoid ELDs. In other words Big Gov shot itself in the foot

When people pull up in a older rig, even a ELD exempt one i drove before in my life I can hop right in and take off. No problems. It will do what it will do. The HOS can take care of itself. -

Anyway, I'm honestly not aware of any major safety features since '99 a and don't see a properly maintained 90's truck as a problem.
