Company I used to be with had an older all aluminum Ravens stepdeck. It got a big crack in the frame hauling hay one time. They got rid of it and got a steel/aluminum Fontaine trailer. The Fontaine never had any issues.

What kind of weight would a broke down trailer haul? Reason I ask, looking around for one. That will be only hauling 25,000 or less. And was thinking better price on a trailer that the arc is gone out of. And being my plans are using a single axle truck and spread axle trailer.
One of the old trailers would be perfect for my use. As a Single axle T600 Hotshot rig. Sure beat a pickup with no sleeper. And a 48ft flatbed or better yet, drop deck. Would be almost the same as a 40ft Gooseneck.Oxbow Thanks this. -
I have a year 2000 48ft low pro stepdeck that I'm thinking about selling. It' a combo. I've done lots of work to it. New kingpin plate. Airbags. Just put brakes, drums, slacks and scams on it. Looks pretty decent few years ago I sandblasted and painted it. Also has a good mounted spare tire in rack. Probably ask $15,000 obo. If interested I can get pictures.
