    Numbers are in for 2017:

    91,100 miles (loaded 74,515 deadhead 16,585)
    $227,637.00 ($3.05 loaded $2.50 total)
    231 pickups and 279 deliverys
31 direct coustemers loads and the rest loadboard
74 tarped loads 157 no tarp
    3 oversize loads
6 weeks no productive (no loads)
    4 weekends away from home
    Average loaded miles 321 miles
    Average deadhead 72 miles

    6.64 mpg
    $2.42 per gallon average price

Truck maintenance $12,958.49 (0.15 per mile)
Trailer maintenance $942.31 (0.01 per mile)
Other upgrades and securement $3214.31 (0.04 per mile)

No roadside breakdowns or tow.1 blown tire but found it on a post trip at a truck stop.
Changing the tire was the only outside labor charge.
    Oh,and having the driveshaft balanced.

This doesn't include new crate engine at $25500.00 because I cap ex the money and will depreciate that.
Overall I'd call it a good year. Not sure what to set the goals at for next year but week one is up over last year first week.

I do know I don't want to drive anymore total miles or work any more days in the year. Also don't want be out over any more weekends than last either. Lol

Huh, maybe I'm looking at the goals from the wrong perspective?

Hope you all had a great year?

Truck is doing well. Some of the squeaks and rattle chasing is geting old. Truck dose ride smooth and true.

I got 190k miles on a steer tire so I'll be buying a set of steers soon.

Other than that there are a few cosmetic upgrades I have planed.

When you know your numbers, you know how you are doing! excellent book keeping.
And you have them 6 days into the new year!

I keep track of my numbers every load. I have a laptop on a RAM mount in my passenger seat. Everything gets put on a spreadsheet everyday. Mileage, rates, fuel and purchases. I also have last years numbers and am constantly comparing. image.jpg

I forgot about my homemade APU. The maintenance, repairs and acquisition cost are in the above figures However I spent an additional $930.00 in gasoline for it for the year. Lost track of the hours though.

I would say the little generator has hands down been the most valuable cost saving item of this adventure

Cought a nail in the sidewall of a drive tire with less than 50k miles. Replaced it this morning.

Ugggg! I hated to see all that deep tread go in the trash can!

That's a good deal you got. $1300 a month is dang cheap. The only problem for me going this route is not being able to go to California. I don't go much but the option is nice to have.

I pick up so much crap in my tires , I've had 3 super singles replaced since July all with deep tread, because they had some big chunks of metal in them. I'm glad I don't have to pay for them.alsohad a steer replaced because the sidewall had a hole in it.

singlescrewshaker and Tug Toy Thank this.

905k miles finally put on new steers today. Hit them with a little polish while I had them apart. I was getting just a slight shimmy. Old original firestone had 203k miles on it and the Bridgestone had just over 100k miles on it. 6E34391C-1957-4F9A-9245-F3076A7FE42B.jpeg C78AA6BF-8F21-4531-B4CC-EE8FBC8D998F.jpeg This is the Firestone. Still has probly %30 tread on it is still wearing even. There is one spot that has some little cuts from something and is wearing funny right there. About 12” long. 00F39FEA-472B-43FB-94EA-0A42F4DA2D89.jpeg Bridgestone wearing perfect and way over 1/2 tread left. 0A041240-9E84-47DB-9644-FF0082618140.jpeg

Installed a Amzoil 2 micron oil filter a couple weeks ago. I don’t plan on extending my oil changes but thought it might help with keeping the oil a little cleaner? It was less than $300 and figure it was worth the cost? D691A110-E92C-4E1B-AFB1-1463EB159951.jpeg 01F21537-7B2B-41C7-B33C-4ABD3AC7BB8B.jpeg F4F5C4B3-84CE-4EC1-BF47-67EB2868F5C9.jpeg

Got new wiring harness for the trailer slide lights. It’s got 9 lights on each side. I’ve been fussing with them for the last couple of years. New harness for both sides was $300 for the pair. Should be good for 10 more years now I hope? ED28C3C5-0FDE-48AD-989B-4622C7492CB9.jpeg E9F76F19-FBA9-4326-85CE-8B635332DF05.jpeg
