I own a fleet of trucks hauling my own freight. Thus, you do need a commercial drivers license, and fed med card. The nice part to this is you can file for exemption as it pertains to the truck being registered as not for hire. I do not have to run elogs, due to the age of my trucks, nor log books because i pull my own freight (cattle)

It turns out there is a lot of parts and extras -- too heavy for one trip. Also the Hellcat is 108" wide. We are going to hire someone to haul it home.
I was told that running this rig locally with the tractor registered privately and placarded "not for hire" that a CDL isn't even required?

    Erf.

Well let's see. Call Anderson Trucking and have them quote you a rate. We moved tanks before, Aberdeen comes to mind. Little ones, T34's and such. (And yes they ran...)

Then figure the costs of that cross country move. Im betting you will probably want ATS to do the move.

Now if you aint got a tractor trailer for moving those things around on the farm or whatever and absolutely need to commit to one, prepare yourself for increased security challenges as you apply for a CDL. When you said Implement, I though oh, a steam tractor, combine, whatever. But when you said tank, that's another problem.

In addition to the move, you will need someone to be with that tank at all times so that if something does happen it may be documented. (Video etc) You will be adding video to the back of your cab aimed to the trailer to checkup on people around that tank when parked. It's a giant magnet that says touch me. And god help the kids they wanna climb on. They don't know anything about insurance and profound legal problems that might crop up against you for a skinned knee, a knot and bawling.

Now if they have seasoned the people properly all these years I think you will have some fun. Just try specialized. It's motivating and exciting in details compared to plain van. Even tanks and other goodies.

Good luck with you. Keep us posted.

I hope your neighbors never piss you off. ;)

Nice buy. I don't think you'll have to worry about a road rage incident.

My truck with a Bradley on. If you notice where the trajectory of the barrel falls, you will realize why I never had an issue with tailgaters when hauling these.

Tanks for the memories. (Sorry lol...)

That is actually was one of my very favorite activity, but alas I did not get into that part of the industry much. A load or two, pat me on the the head and back to potato chips which isnt the same.
