Couldnt have said it any better myself, i have nothing against aero trucks but i need my hood!
-
-
they said that about the 359. My only beef with the new petes started before the 389 I hate the new plastic dash and rocker switches in '06/newer, if truck makers bring anything back it should be toggle switches. It's hard to glue a 3" extension on the rockers!!
-
Supposedly the reason behind the rockers is safety.
-
Safety from what?
-
Poking your eye when you reach down to grab that lit cig. or handful of goobers
-
HAHAHAHA guess you're right. My 03 W9 still has toggles, rockers under the wheel. I dont like the newer dash with them electronic gauges and rockers.
-
it's my 359.
I haven't figured yet if I am going to do it. I want to but with what I may be doing with the truck a shorter wheelbase helps allot. I was planign to put a long hood and stretch the frame some but now I may do one or the other.
I know someone that cut the front frame and added a long hood section just like you do out back when stretching it. saved him from having to do all those holes.
What I was wondering is if the motor and trans shouldn't go back with the cab. have you measured that on a long hood? I know my truck has no air to air out front. I'd like to eventually run an electronic motor and add an air to air, figured I may need the room -
They say safety in case you get into a wreck the toggles cause more injury or something like that.
