I use flat plate with heavy wall tubing. Line the tubes up level so you can just pin them on the rear. Straight support blocks on front. Whole lot easier than 4 bolts and nuts

Not trying to hijack this post but getting into end dump hauling ... my steer axles are rated for 16k my drives are rated for 40k and my trailer tandems are rates for 50k .... but on average how far toward should my fifth wheel placement be to distribute a few thousand more pounds on my steers ?
