So I spent a couple of months researching companies, applying and interviewing and receiving feedback from various sources. Melton was that first "ah-ha" carrier for me and in the end I kept coming back to them. I could mark off most of the bullet points I needed fundamentally to make the decision.

Thus far my interactions with Melton have been thorough and precise. The on-boarding process fairly seamless and communications plentiful. Usually, after starting with a company there's a shift in these communications and is indicative of some flaws so I will be doing my best to communicate and keep front of mind, I am the rookie and I need to remain steadfast to the fact I have the learning curve to work out here, not the carrier.

I start orientation tomorrow and I am very excited to be starting my trucking career with Melton Truck Lines.

See you on the road soon!

Majority of the people working in the office probably have no clue about that.

Good luck on your adventure, and hope they are everything you hope they will be.

But, just out of curiosity...what bullet points did you have for a company?

Maybe by sharing those, you could help new drivers make a decision.

So here were my main bullet points:

    Pet friendly
    Anywhere domicile
    Flatbed
    Great starting pay
    48 + Canada & Alaska
    APU
    Additional pay structure
    Pay raise schedule
    Equipment

...basically almost all my points were hit with Melton.

I've run Alaska for years and have never seen a Melton truck there.
