I just bought a double drop extendable rgn. I have 4 inches of clearance between the bottom of the trailer and the road. What is the standard clearance.

That’s about all I had when I was hauling cars on a tractor stinger combination. You learn not to go on roads with high rail road tracks.Any driveways that have a dip you got to gas on it or you will get hung up there to

Why Double post?

Learn how to manually raise your air ride on your truck and trailer, for when you get hung on a grade crossing. Not kidding. When you get hung, your automatic levelers while start dumping air,and hang you even worse in a hurry.

You should be able to use shims on the front to get more clearance.Should also be able to adjust rear. We try to have 6" minimum. Sometimes impossible if real heavy

I know how to on the trailer, on the truck it has a solid rod with no adjustment. I'm going to make a new one that I can adjust.

I pull a 53 ft tandem and I’m good to go with less than that. but watch the crown in the road when making 90 degree turns. If it drags, I find I’m better to keep going. Any time I’ve stopped I’ve gotten hung up.Randy68 Thanks this.

He was talking about popping the rod off the valve lever and raising it to put max pressure into the bags when you need to get moving because that train doesn't appear to be stopping.

Yes, on my truck the air bag leveler is a solid rod. No easy or quick way to adjust the height of the bags. So I'm gonna redo it to make it to where it can be quick.
