So I have a phone interview Thursday, and I'm a bit curious on what type of questions are asked in a truck driver interview. I've had the first one where he asked some background info and any tickets or wrecks in the past three years. Once that's done, I'll be starting school hopefully next week. Should I be prepared for some questions I learned in the CDL manual or what?

Be prepared to be promised the impossible, start knowing the phrase: Can I have that in writing? notarized?
Gin86 and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -

Ask to talk to different drivers already there, you will get a well rounded idea what you heading into. some can make a bad situation good and some go the other way around, you be a sponge, soak up all you can.
Gin86 Thanks this. -
this should be more of the same. since the first one , they've had tome to run the info to verify. this call is to make sure that everything that should be listed, has been. final chance at being honest. If youve been upfront, they should set you up for a physical for a new med card prior to scheduling orientation.
gentleroger and Gin86 Thank this. -

If it's a well known, large company.. just go to a local truck stop and chat up a couple of their drivers on the fuel island for a minute or two asking them exactly their thoughts on how they're treated compared to what was promised. It won't take very long for one or two to appear if it's a mega.
An afternoon is a small price to pay.
That's how you'll get an unbiased review.
If you approach someone nicely and tell them exactly what's going on.. you'll almost always be received graciously.
Make it short. He's got work to do.
Compare THAT to what the recruiter tells you.
(Now I see that I've wound up in the Schneider forum somehow... so, yes.. one will appear shortly.)Gin86 Thanks this. -
You going tanker division?
-
Going to Schneider will benefit me more than the other places I looked at that pay for the school......CFI, Wil Trans, and Millis were my top 3. With them having tanker as well, I can get into that much sooner than I could have with the other 3 companies.Chinatown Thanks this. -
I don't know much about Wil Trans, but I don't think I've ever seen a CFI or Millis Tanker, so I think you're in much better shape going Schneider. They don't force hazardous on you either, if I recall correctly. They'll bump your pay if you elect for it though.
