I'm flying up to dealership to take delivery of truck. Dealer is providing 30-day temp tag, bill of sale, and title. My question is this.... Will I get a pass on not having an e-log since I'm just driving the new purchase home? I assume that in its absence I will have to run a paper log for the trip home... Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thank you!!

If you are not for hire yet put a sign easy to see stating that and since it is not legal yet I got a feeling you can go naked, but I would do at least paper logs and have insurance to cover any what ifs, plus a dash cam to cya

Should be legit to run paper logs. Considering you can be anywhere in the country in less than 8 days.
Take a broken cell phone or tablet with you and say you're using the eld broken exemption lol

When you are UNLADEN and NOT UNDER DISPATCH you can take it home with personal drive status. No mileage limits. In Canada limit 50 or 70 miles/kilometers. But you will need it insured.
