Don't forget if you run light a lot you can slide the 5th up to close the gap a bit. Pretty hard to find pre 2000 low mileage trucks nowadays for a good price.

Here is how it looks like. Its loooong. I may have isseue with 5th wheel being 2" higher than on my Volvo. 46" vs 48"

I suppose a deeper king pin setting could help if you pull your own trailer. I never liked deep king pin settings myself though.

Mine is at 30" I think I'm bout to get it yanked out and reset at 18". I don't care for the way a deeper kingpin maneuvers. Prolly bc all my other wagons are 18" and I have that as a reference point for how it "should" maneuver.rollin coal, Tug Toy, AModelCat and 1 other person Thank this. -

I can't imagine getting rid of a known good running truck and taking the risk on an unknown 20 year old truck just because of elds.

Buy a trailer with a deeper kingpin, or maybe a trailer dealer can relocate yours.
