I called CS since i hadn't heard from you and they knew nothing about an issue at all.
Im just wondering, since i traded in my 730 for the 740 mostly because of the traffic option, which has not worked since day one.
has there been any discussion of a refund, partial or otherwise? some kind of compensation?
I mean hell by time they get the 740 traffic working, ill be looking at a 750?

I told you the model already Mark. You asked me this question already and I replied. I attached the quoted messages I had posted in regards to my problem.
    Please help answer my concerns.

Mark are you aware of any issues with the battery life on the Overdryve 8 Pro? Mine is not holding a charge even though is it on the magnetic mount and powered all day. I've used a battery app and the power drops off consistently throughout the day. I'm not showing any disconnects or drops in charge power. After about 11 hrs it will be down to around 25%. Much lower and it starts freezing up and shutting off or restarting.

Look at the USB connector on the Magnetic Slice. At the seam is it opened at all? Look on the TNDT80B also. If the seam is opened at all then the USB part of the DC cord will not provide a snug fitting. Also look a the DC end of the same cable. Take a cable tie or a tong off of plastic fork and put it between the DC plug and the DC Connector. The vibrations of the truck may have it slipping out some creating a "air" gap.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Is the one that originally came with it? If so, call CS to get the newer one. They will not ship it till they see movement (shipping) via a tracking number back to them. The OD7/8 Pro "Overdrye Active Mount" is a controlled item.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I wish it was the problem. But the connectors are fit very snug and the power/ charging indicator are properly working. Besides that i have used a regular USB cable to connect to the GPS as well as the DC cable that came with the GPS and both work find. It's the battery is charging itself that has a manafacturing defect of some sort. I spoke with a company driver who asked how I like the GPS and I told him about my battery issue and he said he is having the same exact problem on the same exact GPS. Googling and looking at other posts I see many people complaining about this problem.
What do you know of that is the cause so people can fix it. I think this should be taken pretty seriously since it does not give random McNally a good reputation.

The same driver that I spoke to about his GPS said he bought the smallest one from McNally the cheapest one that is not a tablet and says it works fine. Even tho he hasn't had it as long as the tablet I question if he will run into the same battery problems with that product from the same company. If he doesn't then it has to do with the tablet GPS itself.

Please address this problem with your company in charge of this and get it fixed. You guys have a great product but with flaws and it makes me think of going with another brand if it will be better in terms of not having to worry about issues like these that are all too common.

If you have any other solutions or can comment on why so many people are having battery issues with there GPS I would greatly appreciate the response.

We have been running the TND 730 ever since it came out and have not had any power problems whatsoever so it seems most of the issues are with the Android Tablet models. We run separate dash cams, sirius radios as I am not a fan of stuffing all those programs in a relatively cheap unit and expect everything to work fine. The Truck GPS is a complex system and in my opinion should be instituted in a single unit and the use of the Slice for wireless charging for such a intricate system was not a good idea,in my opinion,as any power fluctuation will create havoc with the unit.A system with all those other programs in it may work ok for cars but in a truck will eventually create problems as any truck I have operated, even brand new ones, seem to have intermittent electrical problems which will effect any electronic gadgets hooked into the system.

Did you do as I suggested and put a zip tie or tong between the DC Plug and the DC Connector.??

What is the serial number of your unit?

    Thanks,
    Mark
