There's certainly plenty of tricks I use to get to a safe place to sleep but ultimately you need sleep. That's the correct answer to falling asleep at the wheel, pull over and sleep. I've pulled off on the should right before a ramp in rush hour traffic blocking the view of cars merging. It's better than killing someone. I have no rhythm, just the blues.

My dispatcher knows I run nights, and sets all my appts early am.
I don't know how they do this as my dispatch location changes depending on which side of the country I'm on.
If I'm dropping a load at 6 am I'll have a bachkhaul by noon and shut down.
    Run again around midnight.
About 4-5 am,Take my 30,grab some coffee, and roll on awaiting the sunrise.
By the way...10 more days and we enter daylight savings time!
    Spring!
