1 step forward on the housing project, 843 steps backwards. Our mid March move in date has been pushed back to sometime else. I went to put can lights in the last bedroom Sunday afternoon, and found 2 of the 7 2x4 ceiling joists had a split and a 3rd was broken (presumably from a tree branch, judging by the roof repair). We knew it had shake shingles that had been removed and new sheeting with 3 tabs put back on about 4 years ago. But I didn't really look beyond seeing the sheeting that was overlayed on the shake shingle stringers. The damaged 2x4's were hidden under the blow in insulation. I found those as I crawled across then to put the lights in.
Needless to say, the ceiling is now in the trailer and new 2x8's are being installed. The room is 9' x 14' and the 2x8's run the 14' span.
Yes it does!!
I have good results both ways, my preference is with some kind of lubricant. Even water will do the trick in a pinch. Either way, the end goal is to keep the cutting edge cool.
Champion makes a cutting wax that comes in a caulking gun style tube without the tip. I use that for drill bits mainly. Works very good and not near as messy as oil.sawmill, snowman_w900, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 11 others Thank this. -
