goin to marten

hey tnspeedy, im just south of you down here off 75 in athens. just wondering how your time has been at marten. im thinkin about goin blue bird myself soon. did you go otr or regional? hope your having a good time with them. thanks be safe out there

 

2 weeks? Heck you weren't there long enough to figure out what they did. It takes two weeks to get up to speed and get assigned to an FM. I've been here 4 months now and I love it. Micromanaged? You sure you worked for Marten? I've found it to be anything but that. They give me the load and then leave me alone. I plan the rout, the fuel stops and how to do the trip. The only time I hear from them is to check and see if I going to make it on time when the time is close. Good pay and benefits. Home on time every time when ever I want.

 

I'm thinking about going back there. The Forest Park yard suck's ### and Kathy (lady performing oreintation class) is really cool. The insurance guy seem's to be a bit off his rocker but insurance doesn't seem to be to bad either. I believe it has been 6 months sense I worked there so I guess I'm gonna give it a shot sense they said they would take me back. Just getting a lot of thumbs down on a lot of the better companies lately.

 

hey skunk.....were they as good as some say.....you have seen me in other posts, i'm going thru the same thing you are......so im thinking of giving these guys a call.....what do you think?

 

carefull,, Marten sent out a Company wide msg on QC drivers are taking a forced .2 cent pay cut. While Management takes none, that we the drivers are aware of..

 

I worked for Marten, i started on jan. 7, asked them to get me home jan. 25. because i bought monster truck tickets for me and my 3 kids. i lived in stl at the time. i was in slc, ut. on jan. 21, my geniuse fm doesn't want to send me east yet so i head to boise. get stuck there for 2 days in a blizzaard so on jan. 24 she sends me to LA. so i ate $100 worth of tickets. then i never got near stl til feb.13. so i finally got to go home for 2 days. on my first trip back, i got a ticket for log violation and was told by my fat fm to pull into the wal mart in denison, tx. i was told that i had to sit for 10 hrs. 30 min later a tow truck tells me they are there for the truck. i call my fm and she transfers me to hr and they terminate me for log violation ticket. so i had to call a cab from wal mart to take me to rent a car and go to the tow truck yard to empty out my truck. i don't know about you guys but marten sucks!

 

thats not the fist story i have heard like that about this company.......so with that said......NO THANKS...i will for sure be sratching this one off the list.....i never get into trouble while with a company, but if for any reason a mishap of any kind happens i sure do not want to be walking on the side of the road because they have no idea how to bring someone into a yard or office to let them go the right way..!!!!!!
