If that’s a 63 inch sleeper you don’t got 260 inch wheel base

Just measured my truck. 250” base, and 5’ clearance with a 18” pin setting. I don’t know what most van trailers are but I remember the company I occasionally pull for has trailers with a pretty far back pin

Cheapest option is going to be to address the issue with your 5th wheel. If it were me I’d just get a new one that’s mounted on a 36” slider and that would give you plenty of room.

    Oxbow and Ruthless Thank this.

If you need a new bunk anyways l would look for a 54" stand up like yours. Thyre kind of rare but would give you extra room behind the bunk and still let you stand up in the sleeper etc. I love the looks of a flattop bunk but for otr work l would have the stand up anytime.

Just move your fifth wheel slider back. Cheap and easy. I haven’t moved my fifth wheel in months but I also have a set back front axle.

I drive a 244" short hood 379 with 63" flat top and have a mile of room between trailer and rack.

And my fifth wheel is a few notches away from the front. You should easily be able to pull most deck trailers, especially steps. Just don't try to do B-trains, lol.

    johndeere4020 Thanks this.
