Thank God brother, thank you....that just made everything I wrote worth while....
I don't want to steer anyone the wrong way (ie; the difference between 'fudging' and running yourself into the ground- wherever you chose to stop)....we all make our own choices....just want to warn others of what I missed/what can happen/how things can work.

If it helps even one person, then it's worh everyone judging me....you just made it worth it.

    Keep safe bro.

thank you, thank you, thank you.......:yes2557:

I used to manage a motel, and the owner never wanted me to fire someone or lay anyone off, he wanted me to make their life miserable and cut their hours enough so that they would quit. He wanted to keep his Unemployment percentage down.
I tried to be up front with the workers, if they were bad, I would still fire them, but that always got me in trouble by the owner, he wanted them to quit! I am NOT saying that Maverick is like that, but there are places that are.

Thank you for being a man, and a real person and taking responsibility for your mistakes. If i was a prospective employer and i read this post i would hire you. You didn't hurt anyone, nor were you ever seriously negligent.

Everyone who drives a truck understands that crap happens sometimes, the important thing is that you learn from those mistakes. If employers weren't gutless and allowing their insurance companies to run their fleet for them they would look at the 'real' portion of all of this those mistakes that were made are LESSONS LEARNED. They're also mistakes that you (Probably) won't make again. Which gives them all the more reason to hire you, right?

Good luck friend, i hope you get your DAC taken care of and find something right for you.

Thank you, I truly appreciate that. And not only will I not make those mistakes again, I'll try to help stop rookie's from making them also.

    Thanks again.:yes2557:

Well; I have read through this and I commend you for taking the blame for the incidents. Most want to shift the blame on someone else. My question is you have listed 5 items on your DAC. Incidents or accidents no matter what you call them. How does that rate maverick as a bad company? No co is going to reward your dac when you have multiple listings of things. The plan is to go from point a to point b on time without tearing anything up.
I myself have zero points. I am in the top 10 of my FM's board and I am in the top 1/3rd of the fleet. I have had points before, but they have dropped in the past. When I had points it was because I had done something. The driver is reponsible for making sure he doesn't aquire points. When I had points it was because of something I had did not the company.
There are co's out there that will ding your DAC for things that you never did. You admit to the things you did and they went on your DAC. That is kind of like going to the dentist and complaining that he drilled 5 holes in your teeth and sent a bill to the insurance. If you did not have 5 cavities he would not have drilled 5 holes. Accepting the blame for the incidents and complaining that they are on your DAC makes me question why maverick is a bad co? With most co's you get more then 2 incidents or accidents and you better have a go to job because you might be going.

-You present an analogy -there's more angles to life and this then your dentist analogy.
-Nobody said I should have had my DAC rewarded, nor does the fact that other companies do worse make everything Maverick does better.
-As for where I located the thread I can't tell you that it seemed appropriate anywhere else.
-You yourself brag about being in their 'top drivers' and that alone shows that you proably have a higher skill set then myself or the people this article was aimed to benifit.
-Also when you point out that you are of their top drivers and have had points yourslef you only back one of my arguments. If one of their 'top drivers' can't avoid points, no rookie stands a chance.

As always I respect your opionions, and welcome them. I have stated both facts and my opionions and that is where I stand until something new is brought into the picture. I feel I have a very nuetral thought to all this, as opposed to what could be a much more biased view found typically of a person in my situation. I've had time to think thru things, am not upset about no longer working there, and by nature am hard on myself for my own mistakes. If you read all I wrote and only see a one sided trash talk to Maverick, you may want to read it again. The company is not without fault nor is any. The information I provided may benifit someone unkowing of what to expect or how things work. Someone who was in the same spot I was 2 years ago may be able to read this and change their decisions and course.....maybe even ending up in the 'top driver' situatin that you are in as opposed to moving down the road.
I know and understand you are a good fit for the company and them for you. I expect some form of defensiveness and actually welcome it....nothing would be educational for others without hearing more sides and angles.

Sorry but with OTR carriers these days it is all about the money and the safety review is but a formality which usually ends in termination, not a opportunity to learn from ones mistakes. Unless it is with a different carrier.

I drove 14 years before I had a fender bender which cost me my job at IDC despite a perfect safety record up to that point. I drove for 2 more weeks before my Dispatcher told me the company's intentions so I skipped the review and just cleaned out my truck ( I live 5 miles from their home terminal[IMG]).

It took me 6 more months of getting turned down by carriers before I was hired again. Thats why I am signed on with every temp agency around my area so if it happens again. I will have a plan B.

Just call a recruiter and tell them you have a clean record and then call them and tell them you have a recent prevent and see how much they care about what lesson you learned from it.

I just spent the last 3 days driving around the Seattle Tacoma area on Ice and snow covered roads ( which believe it or not is not common around here, even in the winter) and saw many poor drivers who will not have a job over the holidays because of the carriers protection of their insurance rates will force them to fire them.
