Oh I had no idea. Looks like a scene from right around here. Hills, no trees, windmills in the distance. We got all that in Oklahoma. Lol.

I hope you at least get some kind of breakdown pay or something for having to sit so much. That really stinks. Just having to find something to do other than lay around would drive me crazy, but the other part of that is having to spend money to do it when your not making any.

I need to replace an 05 F350 that one of my guys drives pretty soon. We have other pickups to pull our trailer with skid steer and implements, in which we gross about 32,000 lbs. I speced out a 2018 F 350 crew cab with the 6.2 liter gasser. I really don't need a third diesel for towing, and with the additional $9,000 for the 6.7 powerstroke, the higher cost of fuel, and the maintenance cost of all the emission crap on diesels (or around $1500 to have that stuff fall off), I am tempted after all these years to try a gas engine again.
Does anyone have input on these engines, or suggestions on which way to go?

 

Hotels reimbursed if I choose to stay another two nights plus 100/day add pay. Plus, since I'm technically out of the shop I'll get layover pay from Friday night till whenever they dispatch me for a load Monday... think that will be another 50/day but I'm honestly not sure if they'll stack it.

The worse part is you kinda have to, you know, ask for this ####. I've seen so many of our drivers whine when they breakdown because they think they won't get paid and reimbursed for their hotel... just gotta know to ask it seems. So many don't apparently.

But nah bear. I'm losing my mind sitting here. Might wiggle my way over to the theater later though... I can think of far worse places I've been stuck broken down. I'm kinda in a good area to be sitting all weekend. Plenty of food options, plenty of malls, etc.
