Sounds like maybe he was trying to build up a head of steam and you were going slower so he was trying to pass you on the right. When you got back over, he saw that you were cutting him off.
You did the proper thing. If he wanted to pass, he should have gotten into the left lane.
What did I do wrong ?

I use to move over and let others onto the roadway. After being left out in the hammer lane by people that just come out and sit beside me, speeding up and slowing down to keep me from coming back over.
I no longer do it, unless there is zero other traffic. They can figure it out themselves what to do.swervyjoe Thanks this. -

My thought with the cb was to find out what he thought I did and if it seemed legitimate apologies to him. I started in June , driven about 80,000 miles . In that time I've had a couple dumb moments that I would have apologized for if possible.
Whoever he is I wish him safe travels .Gearjammin' Penguin and Gunner75 Thank this. -
This all reminds me of this time I was merging onto the freeway. Speed limit is 55 but I was pushing like 61 just to catch the traffic flow (because if the speed limit is 55, everybody is doing about 80 anyways...), then I was going to slow down. Instead some super milk tanker driver misinterpreted this as aggressive driving and tried to race me to the point of no return. The dude was rolling down his window, red-faced and screaming at me. "Do we have a problem!!? Do you have a problem???!" he was asking me. That guy didn't know what he was messing with. Not only a I the most supreme driver on the road, I can verbally abuse strangers on my CB radio. But the most agonizing part of our interaction, was my passive aggression. I pretended to not notice and politely smiled and made eye contact, and treated him like this was a friendly interaction. His frustration grew to epic proportions, and I hit the jake brake and decelerated a good 12 MPH under him. He quickly sped ahead, looking more frustrated that I was now taking control of the situation. I am now slowing down. Goodbye fool. I never saw that idiot again.

I usually have few issues with other truckers. If I do something and I glance back and see an antenna I'll grab the CB and apologize. Sometimes I get a reply, sometimes not, but if I do get one it's always polite. It's the 4 wheelers that slow down when you're behind them then when you pass they speed up.
That #### gets on my last nerve and is happening more and more. -

Back in the early 80s I was in my 1974 Mustang headed alone to meet family for a family reunion in Texas. I was west bound on US 80 about half way between Montgomery and Meridian. I had my CB on and was also half asleep. It was around 2 in the morning. I will never forget that voice on the CB warning me to stay off his (***). I woke up took a good look and backed off the guy and said I was sorry. About 10 minutes later he came back on the radio asking me what was I doing out in the middle of nowhere that time of the morning. We struck up a conversation that carried on well into Mississippi until I stopped near Jackson to buy gas. I have almost always found that with most reasonable people if you acknowledge a mistake say i am sorry it is possible to at least carry on a conversation.
