You are sent a load on Friday morning. The load is scheduled for delivery 794 miles away @ 6:30 am Monday morning. The instructions also say the load is Just in Time and deliver asap. Dispatch is no help with the apparent conflicting instructions. Unable to reach a human at receiver.
What Would You Do? Conflicting instructions on load.

Leave Friday. Drive my time out. Deliver on Saturday. If they are not there find a spot to park till Monday.Wingnut1, Eowyn, Justrucking2 and 4 others Thank this.

get as close to the drop as possible, if you have enough time, hunker down at a nearby rest area, truck stop, or shopping mall, then make the delivery? maybe even park at the drops place if they allow that?
always get as close as possible, always anticipate bad weather, traffic, etc. better to be 10 mins away than 1 maybe 2 full days and have to explain that.driverdriver, homeskillet, TripleSix and 3 others Thank this. -
Enjoy my weekend and be at the delivery by 06:00 Monday morning. You’re a truck driver, you’re paid to drive the truck not over think things.
If somebody messed up and gave you the wrong info that’s their problem, don’t make it your’s. -
I would try to get a 34 in that time as close to receiver as possible but office says 0600 Monday then make it so

Can't see a problem......
They are either going to take right away, as seems to be indicated by extra notation....... or you deliver at actual appt time. Ever think of calling customer to find out if open over weekend......? Communication is key out here & definately not exclusive w/sometimes unhelpfull dispatchers. A little initiative & thinking on your own will carry you far in your endeavors.
If it winds up being actual appt time, you have option of playing with your time as you see fit to your own purposes. All depends on what you have on clock.
Personally, I would get there ASAP & catch the fresh 70 to start fresh out of the gate if they aren't open over weekend. Maybe find something interesting to persue there.
If you are just getting into your 70 before hand, do whatever you wish before, or along the way.
Just got a thing about regaining my 70 whenever opportunity presents itself. But, that's just me.......
From additional notations you had, see there "may" be possibility of off'ing that load early & getting right back to business, though. THAT'S the scenario I'm talkin' bout.......!
Best to you, bud..... however you handle.

Plenty of time for delivery. Under those conditions, I would choose to deliver....J.I.T. That's the primary request of your delivery Instructions. HAPPY TRAILS!!!!!

I see the best way to run anymore is on recap, just try for a honest 9 hours a day so well rested, that balls to the wall is hard on our bodies. I am trying to get healthy again. aging sucks
ladr Thanks this. -
It’s not unusual for the office jocks to screw up and give you the wrong contact number. On Friday, I would have done a google search for the place and called the number that google gave me. Usually on Friday, everyone is in a hurry to get the heck out and so you have to catch them before 2pm. Hammer out, be within striking distance early Saturday.
stayinback and Ruthless Thank this. -
A Few small helpful details-
1.Dispatchers/Planners at megas know Nothing
2.When you get to the Pickup,Simply ask a few questions...is This Scheduled to deliver Monday at 630 or Saturday?.... Nothing Wrong with asking questions
3.Like I say about dispat6chers...When you hear JIT But a Monday @ 630- 99.99999% of the Time you'll be a moinday at 630- And Probably Not a Rush either..... Seen it and Heard it a Million times.
4.if you cant Find a Good Number..Do what TripleSix says- Google it or Call 1411
