There's places that are absolutely beautiful and cheap to live but work can be hard to come by. South east Ohio is cheap to live but there's no work, I would guess rural Tennessee would be similar. I guess that depends on your idea of work.

Well I want preferably local work. Realistically I need to take Home 900-1200 a week. I’d go back otr but my fiancé would kill me. We have a buddy in Indiana that’s cheap to love but a little too cold for me.

That describes Oklahoma pretty much but like you said, once you leave Cali it's not hard to do. I know plenty of people who have sold homes in Cali and come out here and paid cash for one. Don't really know much about rental properties pricing. Not sure how you'd like the scenery, it would depend on which part of the state you wanted to live in.
Lots of local trucking jobs that pay good for around here, especially oil related, you can look at OKC's craigslist.
