May we ask what company this is that wont help you get home after you reported a drinking driver in one of their trucks? I mean some others here may need to know what company this is...

Walk across the road, TMC has a terminal right there. Not even half a mile away.
Get a job with them and a ride home at the same time.

But seriously, there are a number of trucking companies in Joplin. You may have a chance to get on with one. Without risking a serial killer for a co driver.

well even though you say the other driver was drunk, technically you abandoned the truck/load. this will go on your personal file and DAC if they subscribe.

you don't mention that this has happened before, or that you called in on him.

someone at the company would have directed you as what to do.

    you failed.

best of luck to you, i hope you get home.

and learn a lesson from just jumping off a truck.

I don't think this will end well. You jumped off the truck, that's abandonment.

Me? I would have been on that cell calling the law. They can come fetch the drunken lout easily. Might have to fight for it maybe have the truck wrecked if he was driving and drinking, but oh well. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. But I would be staying in that tractor until the law ran us down and arrested the drunken co driver.

I don't know what else to say, except that it is very basic that you should have enough money and credit at all times to get anywhere to anywhere in the USA at any time.

This goes on your DAC as a refusal to comply with training.

You guys are the greatest. Thank you for replying to this thread. I rode that dog home (greyhound) but it was a learning experience. For sure. I wasn't training . And yes I called HP in area to report. Now I may not know how to deal with certain incidents perfectly. but at least I was safer leaving truck. Cause demanding the person whom was drinking on truck to hit the road. May not have been wise to do for me. Dealing with this person could have gotten worse then it had .Yeppers, driving solo again.

The company would not be taking sides if they provide you a means to get home, hell they should have paid for your trip to a hotel and a ride home for that, if he was caught and the company didn't do a thing, then it is their ****es on the line.

You abandoned a trainer while he was under the influence. Big no no.
