Sounds like it's time for a tune-up kit in your engine brakes.
-
When was the last overhead done?
-
Turn up kit was installed last week new O-rings Springs found a couple of bad Springs. Ran the overhead today engine runs smoothly but when you activate the Jake's manually it does not sound right. The front one sounds like it's only hitting on one of the two cylinders, and the middle one sounds different, back 1 shows no difference when they solenoid is activated mechanically
-
Probably need to take that back Jake off and apart and see if I missed something...... I did also I notice with the front Jake brake solenoid activated a lot of oil came out where the slave cylinder pushes in at the front one number one cylinder but number two didn't have a lot of oil coming out of it... the back one also did the same thing but to no effect. Jake brake did not come on on the back one.

Which model Jake you have and what is first three of your Serial number. On your hold down bolts, is only one a twelve point?
-
340c, 2sw,4 12 point bolts, one big nut
Oxbow Thanks this. -

Did you inspect slave valves? Did you let oil purge for at least 30 sec when adjusting Jake lash?
-
I will relook at the slave valves and yes I did let the oil Purge while adjusting the Lash...Oxbow Thanks this.
