Exactly. The primary lock is at the lower end of the 5th wheel and our secondary pull handle is just above it. Actually our 5th wheel locks were modified from factory because the secondary lock pull handle would be able to hit the slider teeth as the 5th wheel is very low. So the pull handle had to be moved closer to the pivot point.

I grab a picture tomorrow of the secondary lock.

Just like the guy next to me in the yard Monday night. It's a bit crazy there with about 25 trucks show up in a 10 minute window, park, drop trailer and driver comming on shift has to hook up.
Well Monday one guy did the tug as I was watching. Pulled out and started turning about 10 feet in front of me. Trailer went foward toward me (and a group of us waiting and trucks to get back) while tractor turned.

I don't have to belive he said he tug tested, I was watching him....

That's exactly the reason I Inspect every time I stop. You never know what kind of people are around, or what they might do. Especially one of those lot lizards you just blew off. That little lever can kill someone.

Those Native Americans love rodeo a lot, maybe the engineer had bull riding on his mind when building that turnpike. LOL

Don't remember those Hwy's being anywhere near as bad as the Indian Nation Northbound.

Why drag it at all when one can simply charge the trailer air and use the hand brake?

Because they don't have to replace the tires 3x as fast due yo all the flay spots on it. And well, I'm too lazy to peek under the trailer, so why not?
Yes, I'm being a bit cynical tonight, why do you ask? :)

When one is too fat to squeeze in to roll up the landing gear, the 30' tug serves a dual purpose.
