    Assuming he is working from a reset, then this would put him in violation here for sure. Or if he hasn't had the required 24hrs off in 14 days.

    I have a ? regarding the 24 hours off in previous 14 days.
    @not4hire
    Must the 24 hours be midnight to midnight of drivers home terminal? If a 24 hour off period consists of lines 1 and 2 and began on March 6 at 12 noon and driver starts a new 14 hour shift the next day at 1 pm, does that satisfy the rule? Part 2: would March 6 be day 1 of a new 14 day counter or would March 7 be "day 1"?

    I am running recap here and will be against this rule in a few days when I re-enter Canada.

    No. Any period of 24 hours and any combination of off-duty / sleeper berth.
    Yes.
    March 7

    Cycles

    25 Subject to section 28, no motor carrier shall request, require or allow a driver to drive and no driver shall drive unless the driver has taken at least 24 consecutive hours of off-duty time in the preceding 14 days.

    - Commercial Vehicle Drivers Hours of Service Regulations

    I left out the referenced Section 28 as it is regarding Cycle 2.

    So I had better not find myself on the road on March 21 before taking another. March 21 would be day 15 and I have worked every day.
    Even more advanced planning needed in future.
    Thanks.

    You caught me before my edit. The new period will start on the day you finish your 24 hours off, so March 7 in your example.

    gokiddogo Thanks this.

    See what happens when I slack off a bit and work a bit easier every day rather than balls to the wall then 36 hours off.
    I suppose another way to think of it may be in the same thought as a 36 hour reset which happens from say 6 am March 6 to 6 pm March 7. March 7 new 70 hours and also "day 1" of 14/24 rule.

    I was going as hard as i could even having it planned so I am taking resets while under load. Result is an absolutely maximized 70 hours usually in 5 or 6 days. Also had me just about worn into the ground.
