Okay my second week out I bumped a mirror of another truck, while pulling in, put some scuffs on it. The guy made a big deal reported it to his company so I had to mine as well. I got a letter from my company that I had a preventable accident. Does this count as an accident when asked by future companies I may apply too. No police or ticket.
Does this count as an accident on applications?

what a jerk coulda buffed the scuffs out. -
I did hit his mirror so I had it coming, but did think if I were in his shoes I would said hey buy my dinner and will call it even. Think he was new too, was an old werner truck. He even got out his camera and accident report forms, I was thinking my god you would think I took off a fender or something.

a mirror, a fender ---- they all count the same.
I'm thinkin', if I were you, under similar circumstances,
I mighta gone ahead a gave his Big truck another shot.
Ten points for the radiator.
Five points for a fender.
With good aim --- you coulda picked up 15 points.
HeY!
WaiT!
Including the mirror, that'd be 18 points.
Meanwhile, your trailer would suffer practically NO damage ---
and that other driver would be sittin' for days, waitin' on repairs, ......
and thinkin' of you all the while.
And lookin' in a mirror, wonderin'
if he'da handled thangs differently,
where would he be now? -
I know that it is a bummer that the guy had to report it, but a company driver doesn't have a lot of choice. I can see why he would not be willing to jeopardize his job for not reporting an incident. These are pretty lean times right now.
-
by golly, give 'em something GOOD to write about.
Knock his headlights out, too.
Dad-burnnit.

Yes, it's an incident & should be reported.

About a month ago coming back from New York I was on I believe it was I-59 in Alabama. I came upon some construction where the lanes where tight with a jersey wall on each side of the "road". I usually dont pass other trucks in these situations but this time I did. As I was passing I quess we both got a lil too close to each other and our mirrors hit. My mirror was pulled back (not broken), so I decided to pull over to fix my mirror and see what the other driver wanted to do. Well he didn't even stop just waved and kept going, so I fixed my mirror and also went about my own business. Problem solved.
