I start with Werner in January I'm kinda nervous about it mostly the training if I get a good trainer I'll be fine but if I get a bad trainer thats where I'm going to have the issues but we'll see when the time comes

If you start with werner you will be hanging yourself they will dac you when you quit.

I have read more bad trainer post in the werner area they have some that can not even reach to wipe their a%% and some have a dumpster in their truck and some have numerous p*^^ bottles laying in their truck.

I had a friend that started with werner and thats pretty much how it went, the trainer drove a couple hours, pulled over let him go a bit, wrote down some directions and said he was going to bed, wake me up if you have any problems. First day in truck.

i start training 12/22/08 with ait and its 18 weeks long i got prehired by werner .i tink maybe they dont give you as many miles because they have other sinority drivers that get first pick and maybe its because where new and they want to give us practice before we start doing long halls.hey bur what do i know im not there lol'i have met jhon jhon a recruter from warner and i asked him about some of the crap i have read on here and he says that reading these post are not good cause thry are not true.he did say some might be like the first truck you get might be a pig stye or you get a lazy trainer no matter where you work people are going to complane about things.all i can say is that i have paid alot of money to become a truck driver and i and i can not afford to let other peoples cpmplaints get to me.i worked as a coach operater for five years in las vegas and that truly was a bad experence but i got my class b w/ p/endorsment and air brakes.so now i am moving on to the next step.see ya guys out there...

LVNV: I met John John when he came to my school you can tell he's a typical sales men type recruiter cause all the stuff he had to say about Werner I won't beleave any of it till I see it

Just some advice. I would believe what you read on here way more than anything that comes out of a recruiters mouth. What comes out of their mouths is usually lies and b##ls##t just to get you there.

My trainer picked me up, we drove for about 3 hours until he was out of hours, went to sleep, woke up the next morning. He drove for about 5 or 6 hours, pulled into a rest area, and we switched out. I drove for about 5 or 6 hours. He stayed up int he passenger seat for about two hours, we talked a bit, and he asked if I could handle it by myself. I said it wouldn't be a problem.

When we left the rest area, he said that nobody he's ever trained has done that before (and he's been training for 12 years). I was thinking to myself "what are you talking about? did I do something wrong?" He told me he's never had anyone get behind the wheel of his truck for the first time and accelerate up through all of the gears without grinding a single one.

I had no problem at all driving on my own right from the start. I went to a very good 6 week long driving school (40 hours a week) and I'm very naturally skilled.

That was the easiest 7 weeks he's had in years...

Had a great time with him too. Really nice guy. I still keep in touch with him. :)

I live in L.V. also and am starting school on jan 5th. I put in prehires with a couple of co's and I'm sure that Werner Rep's will be there at school. I've read so much good and bad about Werner that I really don't know what to think anymore. They are a big company and they seem to have a lot of drivers and freight moving thru here. It just seems that a lot of really p.o.'d drivers are on these posts and not enough of them that aren't p.o....makes for a lot of confusion for us new guys.....
