Once you get it setup, I think you will be very happy with it. Remember you will have to pay more money to have the radio converted to the cb band, unless your wife had the cb shop convert it already. You will want to run it on AM mode, on band D. It doesn’t hurt to upgrade the coax, but it probably isn’t necessary unless it’s old or damaged.

 

Try and determine if stock antenna mount(s) are co-phased or is only one of them used for the cb ( probably driver side if not co-phased) and once antenna(s) and radio are installed you will want to check swr and adjust if necessary, so you will need a swr meter and 3' jumper coax since radio doesnt have a built in swr meter. The radio should only draw at max 5 amps so the stock power hookups should work just fine. Once installed and everything checks out you should be very satisfied with overall performance of transmit and receive range, both the Wilson and Connex brand have been industry standards for quite some time.

 

Important detail having radio converted to 11meter but usually shop will do that.

If you dont have room in budget to purchase swr meter and jumper coax you can instead use the Cobra 29 to check swr , it probably wont be 100% accurate but will be in the ballpark or you can have a cb shop check and adjust like Walcotts.

You can pick up an SWR meter including shipping for about $20 on ebay, a 3 foot patch coax for $10 free shipping, you can also buy an automatic antenna tuner that handles 200W for about $90 on ebay, then you don't need the SWR meter as the tuner has one for reference, but will keep your SWR at 1.0

What would be also good a 102"whip

 

You need a set meter to tune those Wilson antennas.
