    DEF.

I saw it for $2.79/gallon in Ohio this past week. Diesel was $2.95/gallon.

Up here it's even worse. And in places like Kapuskasing, ON they don't even stock it at the pumps because they can't keep the system warm enough. So drivers who don't travel south, or don't plan to need it, end up paying $20+ for one of those little 2.5 gallon jugs.

Oh ok, I hate this emissions crap but in the interest of fair play they don't use near as much DEF as diesel so it's not double. There's no doubt that they cost a lot more than they should to operate but not solely because of the DEF.

I took it as the whole cost of purchasing and maintaining the emission system including DEF.

We are now having to pack DEF to our construction equipment, but we usually use less than a gallon per day on 730C articulated haul trucks. The cost of DEF in our situation is not bad, but it is a pita.

That crap costs a bloody fortune at auto parts stores. Thankfully I can get it out of the pump at the Royal Farms around the corner from work.

SAR, 1951 ford and Zeviander Thank this.

My company orders in bulk for the yard. Ironically, the newer trucks seem to use it less efficiently and can't make a 5-day rounder anymore with a full DEF tank.

Our problem this time of year is that we cannot buy DEF in bulk and keep it on the job without it freezing.

Very fussy. Not sleeping much at night. Usually sleeps most of the day.
