My fiance and I have been driving together for the past 4 years. We're currently employed and we like the company, just not the pay or hometime. We also find ourselves sitting a lot waiting for a shipper or a load. Preplanning is pretty much nonexistant. We're out of FL/GA.
This is our current company's setup:
54 CPM
0 Detention Pay no matter what
Breakdown and Layover pay after the first 24 hours
Hometime is 1 day more than the weeks you ran
(Example: Run 4 weeks off 5, 5 weeks off 6, etc.)
We run East to West and back. All our loads from the West are live loads (Hence sitting so much).
Ideally, I'd like to sit as little as possible, run more miles and make more CPM or % pay. Also, insurance, 401K and other benefits a must. We both have a spotless MVR, can pass a drug and background check, etc. We also have X endorsement and passports. We currently hauler reefer, and drove dry van previously.
I'm sure I missed something, if so just ask.

Old Dominion Freight Line does west coast runs with teams. Each team member gets $.75 cpm for all miles the truck runs.
Estes Express is about the same as Old Dominion.
UPS is about the same also. Fully funded pension. Apply online.
Need hazmat & doubles for all of them.
