My hubby doesn't do Canada at all. You pretty much have to hit the Fleet/Board Lottery. I didn't say my hubby was on one of the good boards did I?

That is some of the shady stuff that goes on. But don't forget the fact that when the agent sends the adjuster out to verify the claim, the driver gets charged for the visit and the claim.billsgirl Thanks this.

You must be well aware of how Celadon drivers are being ##$! then. I give him a lot of credit for sticking in there cause he has a family and bills at home to take care of. HE DESERVES BETTER like a lot of other drivers with these huge self centered companies.

That's why I want to handle my own claims. Set a percentage aside just for that purpose because too many of those and you will not get the high end jobs that pay well. And making out a form for yourself that is not part of the United paperwork. At the end of the delivery, take the customer on a tour of the house which is stated on the form "everything received in good condition" which they sign before you leave which should cover you if they try to put in a claim. Another form not United paperwork for leaving the load site after a tour of the house stating everything was loaded and no damages occured to the property. That's part of covering your own %$#. Thanks again for the info. This is from Bill.

WAIT A MINUTE, HMMM SOMETHING'S WEIRD HERE, FOR WHAT I KNOW AFTER A CUSTOMER FILES A CLAIM, THE COMPANY(ATLAS,UNITED,ALLIED, ETC), SENDS A CLAIM ADJUSTER TO CALCULATE AND VERIFY THE TKTAL COST OF THE DAMAGES, IN MOST CASES THEY TAKE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGED ITEMS, I'M SAYING ALL.THIS BECUSE WHEN I WORKED FOR SUDDATH(UNITED AGENT), WHEN A CLAIM WAS FILED AGAINST ME I REQUESTED COPIES OF THE CLAIM FORMS, SO HOW IS POSSIBLE THEY CHARGED YOU FOR A CLAIM LIKE THAT?

Yeah, and I was having a hard time believing the $200 a week from Sillydon, even in 2008. I think her hubby was pocketing or spending the $$$ somewhere else?BigBadBill Thanks this.

Not true!! Electronics and the HVP don't pay like they did in the 80's AND 90's.. They make no more than a freight hauler.. Household will be good if you figure out the ropes and watch your claims!! Take a good inventory of your loads to protect yourself. Sitting in a truck stop for four weeks is BS to. I just loaded a full load in oh,mi and il going to seattle,wa... Waited 4 day's for a full load going to ny,ma and de. Could have done pretty good on the run but had trk problems, broke down twice which killed me. United is the largest household company out there which they should keep you busy enough.
